One of my favourite humorous authors is Stephen Leacock, the Canadian writer and academic who wrote “Literary Lapses” (1910). I inherited a yellowing copy from my mother and kept it for many years before re-reading it in recent times. I like Leacock’s humour because it is short, topical and ridiculous. I thought I would have a go at topical humour so I just started to write, sometimes using Leacock’s themes, or a random one from anywhere. The results are sometimes stories and sometimes columns or articles.
I decided the easiest way to publish stories was a blog-style website, so here it is. I would love to be able to sketch like James Thurber, but I can’t, but I am in the process of adding my own scrappy doodles to some articles.
I have lots of stories and will be adding to the collection regularly. Hope you get a chuckle from at least some of them.
